All Smartlet reports are compiled in line with the guidelines and code of practice of both the AIIC (Association or Independent Inventory Clerks) and APIP (Association of Professional Inventory Providers.)
Membership to both of these organisations is voluntary and involves the approval of our reports. Members of the APIP must be accredited.

Smartlet Code of Conduct
- All Inventories, Check-in Reports, Mid-tenancy Inspections and Check-out Reports are compiled to the standards approved by both the AIIC and APIP.
- Smartlet Clerks compile each report being at all times unbiased and impartial.
- SmartLet Clerks will make known any association they have with the property or persons related to the tenancy upon instruction from the Client. In this case an alternative Clerk will be assigned.
- SmartLet Clerks are prepared to assist in the case of a dispute and to attend court if so required, subject to an agreed fee.
- Smartlet is in no way financially connected to any cleaning, maintenance or similar company.
- Smartlet is happy to provide details of our Public Liability and Professional Indemnity Insurances upon request.
- Should any breach of the relevant Association’s Code of Conduct be referred to either the AIIC or APIP, SmartLet shall abide by the final decision of the Association’s adjudicator.
- Smartlet is happy to comply fully and promptly with any independent alternative dispute resolution process (such as The Tenancy Deposit Scheme) invoked by the landlord and tenant.
